FAQ
Common questions, honest answers.
About the work, the modalities, and how to begin.
Does online therapy actually work?
Yes, and for many people it works better than in-person. Without the commute or the unfamiliar waiting room, you arrive in your own nervous system's familiar territory and the work lands faster. Online therapy is evidence-based, secure, and effective for individuals and couples across most of what comes up clinically. I work with clients across Utah via secure video sessions.
What is 9D Breathwork?
9D Breathwork is a structured breathwork practice that layers nine sensory inputs (breath pattern, music, frequency, isochronic tones, hypnotic narration, affirmation, somatic prompts, breath holds, and integration) to help the nervous system shift into a non-ordinary state where material held in the body can surface and be witnessed. It is not psychedelic, not a workout, and not a 'push through it.' It is a controlled, supported descent into the parts of you that have been waiting for an audience, held by the same clinical containment I bring to therapy.
What happens in a sound healing session?
Sound healing uses tuned instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, and voice to invite the nervous system into a deep parasympathetic state where stuck material can soften and release. Sessions run 60 to 75 minutes. You lie down fully clothed and the work happens through receptivity rather than effort. Many people experience profound emotional release, somatic clarity, or simply the kind of rest the modern nervous system rarely gets.
What does 'alchemizing' mean in your work?
Alchemizing is the practice of transmuting pain into wisdom. Not bypassing what hurt, but moving through it with enough support that it becomes material for your becoming. In session it looks like meeting what you have been carrying, naming it honestly, letting your nervous system finally process it, and rebuilding from there. Healing isn't getting back to who you were. It's becoming who you're meant to be.
What is a Human Design reading?
Human Design is a system that maps your energetic blueprint: how you're designed to make decisions, recognize your authority, recharge your energy, and engage with the world. I am a Projector and I use Human Design as a complement to clinical work. A reading gives language and permission for the way you are actually built, which is often clarifying for high-achievers who've been told 'just try harder' their whole lives.
What is the difference between a 1:1 session and a retreat?
Sessions are the slow, sustained work. We meet weekly or biweekly, build the container over time, and integrate as we go. Retreats are concentrated. Several days of immersive depth in a held environment where the integration window stays open the whole time. Some people start with sessions and add a retreat. Some start at a retreat and continue in sessions. Both are doors into the same work.
Is this trauma-informed?
Yes. Everything I offer is built on trauma-informed clinical training. That means we move at the pace your nervous system can integrate, we never push past safety, and we treat your body's response as wisdom rather than something to override. Whether we are in a therapy session, a breathwork container, or on retreat, the framing is the same: you are not broken, your nervous system is doing exactly what it learned to do, and there is a way through that does not require you to override yourself.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. I am in-network with BCBS, SelectHealth, and UnitedHealthcare for therapy sessions. Self-pay rates are $120 for individuals and $175 for couples. Sliding scale is available on application. Mention it when you book.
How do I start?
Book a free 30-minute alignment call. We talk about what you're navigating, what kind of support might fit, and whether the work feels right for both of us. No pressure, no commitment. The call alone is often clarifying.
Still have a question?
The fastest answer is usually a 30-minute alignment call. No pressure, no commitment, just a real conversation.
